With the events of the week and the impact they will have on the lives of so many of you, it would be inappropriate to make any attempt at humour.

For many of us it will be the first time in many years that we have not had our nearest and dearest with us at this time of year. Let us hope that the great work that has been and will continue to be done by our NHS and other Emergency Services, not to forget the scientists who are working to produce the vaccines we all need, will mean that 2021 will be a less traumatic time.
