What a difference a day makes – Monday Musings 19/04/2021
I spent a good part of Saturday watching Prince Philip’s funeral and like many people could not help but be impressed by the dignified way in which the Queen, our Head of State, conducted herself at a time when she must have been suffering all the pain that us normal beings would in those circumstances. The huge difference being we would not have the whole world watching. What a difference a day makes!
On Sunday I read that the independent board set up by Facebook will be adjudicating on whether Facebook should have kicked The Trumper off their site. So here we have someone who was about as controversial as a Head of State could be, I make no judgement on his ethics or business practises, who will probably be allowed to continue fulminating against anyone or thing he feels disagrees with him in the most alarming fashion. I have also been following the, shall we call them lapses in judgement, of our recent Prime Minister who would certainly, to the average pleb, seem to have tried to take advantage of his connections in the furtherance of enhancing his already solid bank accounts.
Whether one is a Royalist, I know many are not for good reasons, it is hard not to say that the Queen represents us on the world stage far better than almost any elected Head of State you might care to mention.

Although the London market lost ground to its peers in the USA and Europe largely due to its lack of big Tech Stocks, the Vaccine bounce has seen a tremendous boost to its fortunes. With the exception of the Nikkei and the Shanghai, all of the main markets have moved ahead this week. There is no doubt that both we ordinary mortals and the Lords of the Universe who make huge bets on the markets have been encouraged to spend because of the impact of the various vaccines.
Why not get things moving for 21/22 by staking your own bid for part of the market growth that is opening up.
So, to the markets
