Straight Talk Wealth Management ticks all the boxes according to the Times – Monday Musings 16/08/2021
I make no apology for referencing a two-page article in the Times this Saturday Times of August 14th, and their contributors. In this article a number of well-known figures gave their recommendations for selecting a financial Adviser. All of them, except for Peter Hargreaves who says you should do it yourself on his eponymous web site, listed all the things that we at Straight Talk do or indeed don’t do. I have shortened their comments as I do not have as much space as the Times. If you do not have the article and would like a copy, just get in touch and I will send it to you.
Baroness Morrissey. Chairman of investment platform AJ Bell and former chief executive at Newton Investment Management.” It is absolutely critical that your adviser is a good listener. They must understand your financial hopes and dreams. They need to understand you as a person. As our clients know we spend as long as it takes making sure we understand what you are trying to achieve.
Lord Flight former investment adviser and deputy chairman of the conservative party. “Are you by nature adventurous or cautious? Chose an adviser who fits your character.” We run a range of portfolios that go from conservative to adventurous.
Gaby Logan TV presenter.” Interview and adviser as if you were interviewing them for a job”. As our clients know we a keen to demonstrate how we serve our clients and what we offer to earn our fees. We feel that it is vital that our clients have confidence in us.
Daren Cooke has 26 yearsindustry experience. “If an adviser only wants to talk about how much money you can make and investment returns, walk away. A good adviser should want to know everything about you and the bulk of the first conversation should be about what makes you happy” We passionately believe in getting to know our clients before anything else.
Gina Miller co-founder of online direct and a campaigner low fees and transparency of costs.” If their reception area is bigger than most peoples sitting room- run. Language matters too. If the jargon sounds incomprehensible it probably is”. We have a great client suite and strongly encourage clients and potential clients to come and give us the once over. We are clear about our charges from the first time we meet a potential client We avoid jargon wherever possible as our clients can testify.
Martin James From complaints resolution service Resolver.” The best advisers take the complexity out of financial products- and explain them in person and in writing -in plain English. If they don’t make sense, ditch them”. Again, let me refer you to our report writing which makes any recommendation we have clear in plain language.
As the managing director of Straight Talk I am very proud that the philosophy we bring to our business has been endorsed so exactly.
